Membership in the California Medical Association is a requirement for membership in the San Mateo County
Medical Association. The American
Medical Association is optional, but recommended.

REGULAR Active status for all full-time $1,020.00
practicing
physicians who hold a degree
of
doctor of medicine or doctor of
osteopathy
($475 for SMCMA and $545
for CMA annual dues).
FIRST
TIME NEW MEMBER: This
$510.00
status
is for those physicians who apply
for membership in CMA/SMCMA for the
first time. This
reduction in dues
second year
of
25% ($765).
GOVERNMENT:
This status is for those
$510
physicians
who are 1) full-time employees
of
any federal, state, or local government
agency,
2) commissioned officer on active
duty.
HOUSE
OFFICER: The physician must be
$50
an
Intern, Resident, or Fellow. ($15 for SMCMA
and $35 for CMA).
MEDICAL
STUDENT: Must be an enrolled
$40
student
at a School of Medicine. ($20 for
SMCMA and $20 for CMA).
65+ YEARS OF AGE: Members who are $510.00
65
years of age or older are eligible for
half
dues, IF THEY WORK 20 HOURS OR
LESS PER WEEK.
AMA membership dues (optional). $420.00
Dues
payment may be included with
SMCMA/CMA dues payment.
PRORATION of dues is offered on
a quarterly basis if joining mid-year.
