The SMCMA ensures local physicians have a voice in shaping healthcare policy
The mission of the San Mateo County Medical Association Community Service Foundation is to improve quality of life through the promotion and development of programs that encourage healthier personal and professional lifestyles, promotion of volunteerism among medical and health professionals, collaboration with health-related organizations on community health issues, and educational programs to enhance the medical and health professions.
Walk with a Doc is a free community focused program that encourages physical activity and aims to reverse the effects of a sedentary lifestyle. Walk with a Doc provides an opportunity for community members to enjoy a walk with local physicians while discussing healthy living and health-related issues along the way.
Walks are scheduled every Saturday from April 7 through October 13, 2018 (excluding holiday weekends - May 26th and September 1st ). All walks start at 10:00AM and last approximately one hour. All walkers receive complimentary bottled water and a healthy snack. You can walk as many times as you would like.
Everyone is encouraged to walk, and we need physician volunteers for each walk, as well. If you would like to walk or volunteer, please fill out the Walk with a Doc Online Form.
