2024 SMCMA Family Picnic Highlights August 6, 2024 Areas of interest(s): events, family friendly, picnic, smcma On July 20, 2024, your SMCMA hosted its Physician Family Picnic at Junipero Serra Park in San Bruno. The family friendly event for Peninsula physicians had nearly 50 local physician families and over 140 family and friends in attendance. This marks the second year of the family picnic, which replaced the society's Annual Gala in 2023. The change was made to make SMCMA's annual event more accessible to a greater audience by providing a venue for physicians to engage with their colleagues in a family-friendly setting. The intent is to bring together physicians of all specialties, practice types, and career stages to share experiences and build camaraderie through connection with other physicians they may otherwise never interact with. Aside from networking, the picnic provided catered BBQ and several activities for children, including a bouncy house, an art station, face painting, glitter tattoos, and balloon twisting. Children were occupied and able to burn off some summer energy while physicians connected with their colleagues from across the Peninsula in the beautiful setting of Junipero Serra Park.
