Congressman Kevin Mullin Hosts Healthcare Roundtable

The San Mateo County Medical Association extends its sincere appreciation to Congressman Kevin Mullin for convening local healthcare leaders for a thoughtful and productive healthcare roundtable discussion on October 24, 2025.

Held in San Francisco, the roundtable brought together physicians, hospital executives, and community health advocates to address some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare today — including the extension of ACA tax credits, affordability and access to care, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reform, and telehealth coverage. Congressman Mullin emphasized the importance of collaboration between policymakers and frontline medical professionals to ensure that federal policies reflect the realities of patient care.

SMCMA leaders shared insights from the physician community, urging Congressman Mullin to remain steadfast in supporting the extension of ACA tax credits and highlighting the hardships physicians and patients have faced since the expiration of key telehealth services on October 1 due to the government shutdown. The group also expressed gratitude for his continued leadership in protecting Medi-Cal and ACA programs.

“Constructive partnerships like these are essential to advancing healthcare policies that work for both patients and physicians,” said SMCMA Executive Director Keith Darby. “We appreciate Congressman Mullin’s commitment to listening, engaging, and acting on behalf of our community’s health.”

The SMCMA Delegation included Dr. Connor Lundy, President; Dr. David Goldschmid, Past President; Dr. Vincent Mason, Past President; Dr. Bill Tatomer, Past President; and Keith Darby, Executive Director.

Partnerships make progress possible, and SMCMA remains dedicated to collaborating with policymakers at every level to promote equitable, high-quality care for all Californians — ensuring that physicians continue to have a strong voice in shaping the future of medicine.
